First Visit

When you and your child arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that will allow us to begin treatment. We will ask you to fill out several forms that will get you acquainted with our office.

All Aboard! Check-Ups at The Smile Station

Smile Station patients begin their journey as they enter the waiting room, which looks like an old-time train station. Here, patients make a quick stop at the “Ticket Counter” to receive their official Smile Station Boarding Pass, which specifies which of seven special destination rooms the patient is heading for.

Patients’ first contact with The Smile Station staff sets the tone for the visit, so each dental assistant, hygienist and reception staff member is hand-picked for not only their experience and skills, but also for their ability to relate to young and special-needs patients. The “dental assistant conductors” are friendly and easy-going, helping to transition the “passengers” into their dental treatment rooms.

After a brief stay in the waiting room filled with a large movie screen showing current kid-friendly features as well as games, books and toys, each patient presents their boarding pass. Then they are escorted down the custom-designed train track carpet to one of The Smile Station’s themed destination exam rooms, each with a different color scheme and themed design details, down to the drawer pulls:

Orthodontics

The Smile Station also offers comprehensive orthodontic treatment with orthodontic specialist Dr. Ken Greene. Patients are escorted to a state-of-the-art treatment suite called “Smile Stadium”. This sports-themed room rivals the comfort and experience of a luxury box at Yankee or Shea Stadium.

Behind the theatric components of The Smile Stadium is an advanced orthodontic facility that provides patients with comprehensive care, including new Invisalign orthodontic treatment. Drs. Essner, Kosinski and Greene work in concert, covering both the dental and orthodontic needs of patients in the same visit. This eliminates the need for multiple visits back and forth to different providers and makes the process more streamlined and convenient for patients and parents.
